Box Score (KANSAS CITY, Mo., March 9)- The McKendree University women's lacrosse team earned its fourth-straight win on Monday with a 21-2 win over Midland University (Neb.).
The Bearcats improved to 4-0 and will travel to Aurora, Ill., to face Robert Morris University (Ill.) on March 14 at 3 p.m.
Junior
Bree Suter (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) led all players with five goals, followed by freshman
Mia Fiore (Eureka, Mo./Eureka High School) with four goals. Sophomore
Morgan Cremen (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) added three goals, while fellow sophomores
Victoria Lelo (Auckland, New Zealand/Westlake) and
Hannah Schneider (Ellisville, Mo./Lafayette) each had two scores. Junior's
Krystin Major (Arnold, Md./Indian Creek) and
Rianne Holzmeyer (Hazelwood, Mo./Hazelwood West), and sophomore Franchesca Delroasrio each had one goal. Schneider added two assists and Lelo tied with junior
Shirley Boland (St. Louis, Mo./Ursuline Academy) with a team-high five draw controls.
Sophomore
Amy Porta (Ellisville, Mo./Marquette) improved to 4-0 and had four saves in the win.
The Warriors struck first just under a minute into the game, but the Bearcats scored the next 16 goals to hold a commanding 16-1 lead at the half. McKendree scored the first goal of the second half, but Midland followed with its second goal of the game to make the score 17-2. The Bearcats finished the game with the final four goals of the game.
