(LEBANON, Ill., April 17)- The McKendree University women's lacrosse team dropped a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest to visiting Tiffin University on Friday 13-9.
The Bearcats fall to 9-4 overall and 2-3 in the GLIAC, and will host University of Findlay on Sunday, April 19 at 1 p.m.
McKendree had six players score goals in the loss, including three with multiple goals.
Victoria Lelo (Auckland, New Zealand/Westlake),
Dana DiPasquale (St. Charles, Mo./Barat Academy) and Mia FIore each had two goals, while
Hannah Schneider (Ellisville, Mo./Lafayette),
Morgan Cremen (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley), and
Paige Salthouse (St. Louis, Mo./Ursuline Academy) each had one goal.
Ola Abdallah (Florissant, Mo./Hazelwood West) had a game-high nine ground balls, and Fiore also recorded five draw controls.
Amy Porta (Ellisville, Mo./Marquette) fell to 9-4 in goal and had eight saves in the loss.
The Bearcats led 2-1 4:30 into the game, but the Dragons scored back-to-back goals to take a 3-2 lead. McKendree tied the game with a goal from Salthouse, but Tiffin answered with two more goals to regain the lead 5-3. Goals by DiPasquale and Lelo tied the game again for the Bearcats, but the Dragons outscore McKendree 4-1 in the remainder of the half to lead 9-6 at the half. Tiffin led 12-7 late in the second half, but the Bearcats got back-to-back goals from Schneider and Fiore to cut the deficit to 12-9 with 8:04 left in the game. The Dragons went on to score the last goal of the game with 4:03 left to make the final score 13-9.
