Box Score (QUINCY, Ill., April 2)—The McKendree University men's volleyball team was swept in a best-of-five match Thursday evening at Quincy University. The host Hawks won by scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-20. 
Playing its second Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) match in as many nights, McKendree slipped to 11-16 overall and 1-12 in league play. The Bearcats will wrap up the home portion of its 2015 schedule next Saturday – April 11 – by playing host to Ball State University. First serve is set for 7 p.m. 
Sophomore middle blocker 
Wyatt Patterson (Flossmoor, IL/Homewood-Flossmoor) led a balanced attack for McKendree with seven kills. Freshman outside hitter 
Nolan Rueter (Burlington, WI/Burlington) added six attacks, while sophomore right-side hitter 
Maalik Walker (Shorewood, IL/Minooka) and freshman opposite 
Jared Wilcox (Warrenville, IL/Wheaton-Warrenville South) each chipped in with four kills. Freshman setter 
Pasquale Fiduccia (Hanover Park, IL/Glenbard North) helped out with 21 assists against Quincy. 
In the first set, McKendree scored three of the first four points and led for the first half of the contest. Quincy scored six consecutive points to grab the lead for good at 17-12. The Hawks eventually pushed the margin to as many as seven points, including the final margin in the opening set. The hosts never trailed in the second set, although the Bearcats pulled even four separate times. Quincy broke open a 9-9 deadlock by outscoring McKendree 8-3 over an 11-point stretch to build a 17-12 advantage. 
The teams battled through the first half of the final set before the Hawks slowly pulled away down the stretch to complete the sweep. As a team, Quincy hit .452 for the match, topping .400 in hitting percentage in each set on Thursday. 
Jarrod Kelso led Quincy (13-10, 5-7 MIVA) with a match-high nine kills. Thane Fanfulik distributed 31 assists while Jack Gamache totaled eight attacks and seven digs for the Hawks.
