Box Score (EVANSVILLE, Ind., April 25)—The McKendree University baseball team was defeated in Great Lakes Valley Conference play Saturday by the University of Southern Indiana, 19-0.
The Bearcats are now 9-32 overall and 8-23 in league play following Saturday's contest. McKendree and Southern Indiana will close out their weekend series on Sunday with a single game slated to begin at noon.
Senior infielder
Jason Hobson (Griggsville, IL/Griggsville-Perry) was the only McKendree player to record a multi-hit contest against the Screaming Eagles. Hobson had two hits, including a double for the Bearcats' lone extra-base hit. In all McKendree rapped out eight hits versus USI pitching on Saturday.
The contest was scoreless heading into the bottom of the second inning before Southern Indiana (20-19, 16-15 GLVC) took control with five runs in the bottom of the frame. The Screaming Eagles scored in seven of the eight innings they came to the plate.
