Box Score (SAINT CHARLES, Mo., April 25)- The McKendree University women's lacrosse team ended its regular season schedule with a 19-4 loss at No. 4 Lindenwood University on Saturday morning.
The Bearcats end the regular season with an overall record of 10-6, and will travel to Painesville, Ohio on Tuesday, April 28 for the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament against Lake Erie College.
Four players scored for McKendree in the loss.
Rianne Holzmeyer (Hazelwood, Mo./Hazelwood West),
Hannah Schneider (Ellisville, Mo./Lafayette),
Victoria Lelo (Auckland, New Zealand/Westlake), and
Paige Salthouse (St. Louis, Mo./Ursuline Academy).
Mia Fiore (Eureka, Mo./Eureka High School) and
Taylor Hartwick (Bentonville, Ark./Pattonville) each had two groundballs, while Fiore and Lelo each had two draw controls.
Amy Porta (Ellisville, Mo./Marquette) had nine saves and is now 10-6 overall this season.
The Bearcats scored two goals in each half, Salthouse scored with 12:21 left in the first half to cut the score to 8-1, and Schneider added another goal with just over five minutes left in the half to make the score 11-2. Holzmeyer found the back of the net with just under 16 minutes left in the game. Lelo scored the final goal for McKendree, her team-leading 45th goal of the season, with 10:01 left in the game.
