(EVANSVILLE, Ind, Sep. 13)- A header goal by senior Vijay Brahmbhatt (Belleville, Ill./Althoff Catholic High School) with 26-seconds left in the second overtime period led the McKendree University men's soccer team to a 1-0 win at University of Southern Indiana on Sunday.

The Bearcats improved to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, and will host William Jewell College on Friday, Sep. 18 in a conference match at 7:30 p.m.

Brahmbhatt's goal came in the 110th minute off a corner kick by Dylan Cassidy (Dublin, Ireland/Lucan). Cassidy's kick went to the far side of the box where Brahmbhatt headed a shot past the keeper for the game-wining goal.

Regulation was an even matchup for both teams with the the Eagles taking two more shots than McKendree, 7-5, through the first 90 minutes of play. Despite the two more shots by Southern Indiana, both teams were only able to place two shots on goal through 90 minutes of play. Neither team recorded a shot in the first overtime, and each only took one shot in the second overtime.

Scott Armistead (Auckland, New Zealand/Saint Peter's College) improved to 2-1 overall and had two shots in shutout win, his second shutout in as many games.
