(ROLLA, Mo., Sep. 27)- The McKendree University men's soccer team tied the game 1-1 in the 70th minute, but a goal by Missouri S&T in the 86th minute was the difference in a 2-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference loss on Sunday.

The Bearcats fall to 3-4 overall and 3-3 in the GLVC, and will host University of Wisconsin Parkside on Friday, Oct. 2 in a conference match at 7:30 p.m.

After a scoreless first half, the host Miners opened the scoring in the 51st minute to take a 1-0 lead, but McKendree answered with a goal by Callum Kiddell (Auckland, New Zealand/Mount Albert Grammar School) in the 70th minute to tie the game 1-1.

The game appeared to be headed to overtime, but Missouri S&T scored on a free kick in the 86th minute to take a 2-1 lead. The Bearcats had a shot attempt with seven seconds left in the game blocked to end their chances of sending the game to overtime.

Senior goalkeeper Scott Armistead (Auckland, New Zealand/Saint Peter's College) fell to 3-4 with the loss and had three saves.
