(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla., Sep. 29)- The McKendree University women's soccer team lost its final non-conference match of the season on Tuesday at Oklahoma Christian University 2-1.
The Bearcats fall to 4-3-2 overall and will host University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Friday in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match at 5 p.m.
The Lady Eagles scored the only goal of the first half in the 31st minute. A penalty kick was awarded to Oklahoma Christian following a foul in the box, and the attempt was good to put OCU in front 1-0.
Freshman
Sydnee Carroll (Millstadt, Ill./Belleville West) tied the game 1-1 in the 60th minute by tapping in a mishandled ball by the Lady Eagle goalkeeper. The game appeared to be headed to overtime, but a foul during a OCU corner kick awarded the Lady Eagles another penalty kick chance with 24 seconds left. The PK attempt was good and the game ended 2-1.
Senior goalkeeper
Taylor Zerbe (St. Louis, Mo./Trinity Catholic) fell to 4-3-2 overall and had seven saves in the loss.
