(LEBANON, Ill., Jan. 14)- The McKendree University women's basketball team outscored William Jewell 14-4 in overtime to earn a 57-47 win on Thursday night.
McKendree improves to 7-9 overall and 2-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with the win, and will host Rockhurst University on Saturday, Jan. 16 at 1 p.m.

Ellie Pusheck (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) led all players with 20 points in the win, including an 7-of-8 effort from the field and a 6-of-7 mark from the free throw line.
The Bearcats trailed 20-12 after the first quarter, but battled back and cut the deficit to 20-17 with 7:45 left in the second quarter on a layup by Pusheck. The Cardinals extended their lead back out to 27-18 and held a 29-22 lead at the break. McKendree scored the first six points of the second half to cut the score to 29-28 midway through the third period and gained its first lead of the game, 34-33, on a layup by Pusheck with 2:08 left in the third quarter. William Jewell regained the lead on the next possession and held a 40-34 lead entering the fourth quarter. The Bearcats used a 8-0 run to start the fourth quarter to take a 42-40 lead with 2:31 left in regulation, and the game was tied 43-43 to send the game to overtime. McKendree controlled the entire overtime, holding the Cardinals to only four points, to slowly build a 10 point lead to earn the 57-47 win.
Madison Campbell led William Jewell with 11 points in the loss.
