(Lebanon, Ill., Oct 13) – The McKendree University men's soccer team hits the road this weekend as they travel to Rockhurst University on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. contest. The weekend continues as they visit William Jewell College on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

The Bearcats are coming off of a tough weekend as they dropped two one-goal contests to two of the top four GLVC teams, Missouri S&T and Drury. "We can play with very good teams," said head men's soccer coach John VanBuskirk. "These games give us confidence that we are as good as these teams."

Heading into the weekend McKendree is 2-5-2 overall, and 1-5-2 in the GLVC. "Looking forward to this weekend's matchups it is going to come down to scoring goals," said VanBuskirk. "We've played very well as a team, we just need to limit mental errors and capitalize on our opponents' mistakes."

Scouting the Hawks: Heading into Friday's contest the Hawks are 11-0-1 overall and 9-0-1 in the GLVC. Rockhurst currently holds the top seed in the GLVC standings. Kaleb Jackson leads the Rockhurst offense with eight goals on the season.

McKendree vs. Rockhurst (GLVC): 0-4

Scouting the Cardinals: Heading into the weekend, the Cardinals are 2-10 overall and 2-8 in the GLVC giving them the 15^th spot in GLVC standings. The Cardinal offense is led by Charlie Parrish who holds the team lead of seven points.

McKendree vs. William Jewell (GLVC): 3-1

The Bearcats return home on Friday, October 21 to host University of Southern Indiana at 7:30 p.m. for their final home match of the 2016 campaign.
