Box Score (Kansas City, Mo., Oct. 14) – The McKendree University men's soccer team improved to 3-6-2 overall and 2-5-2 in the GLVC as they upset the number one team in the nation, Rockhurst University, in a 1-0 contest.

Dylan Cassidy (Dublin, Ireland/Lucan) would break the ice in the 24^th minute of the contest as he scored his first goal of the season. This goal would prove to be the game winner dealing Rockhurst their first loss of the 2016 season.  

In the contest, the Hawks would outshoot the Bearcats 13-5, however Cassidy's shot would prove to be all the Bearcats needed.

In net for McKendree was Ian Bender (Edwardsville, IL/Scott Gallagher Academy). Bender collected six saves on the day along with his first shutout of the season.

"Biggest win of the season," said men's head soccer coach John Vanbuskirk. "I knew we had it in us. We have played like that in previous games but couldn't get that lucky break. The guys are pumped and ready for Sunday."

The Bearcats continue the weekend as they travel to William Jewell College on Sunday for a 2:30 p.m. contest.
