(Somers, WI. Oct. 2) – The McKendree University men's soccer team fell to 2-3-2 overall, and 1-3-2 in the GLVC as they dropped a 3-0 contest at Wisconsin-Parkside.
In the contest the Bearcats outshot the Rangers 8-7, however the Rangers were able to put six of those seven shots on goal.
The Rangers would open up the scoring as they entered the 17th minute of the contest with a goal coming from a ball delivered to the center of the field that deflected off of a Bearcat defender into the net. In the 35th minute, Leki Prpa would find the back of the net has he picked up a loose ball in the box.
The Rangers would add to the score sheet in the 2nd half. Vic Vera tallied the third goal of the contest as he received a pass from Antonio Gonzalez. This put the Rangers ahead 3-0.
In net for the Bearcats was Eddie Starr (Columbia, IL/Columbia ). Starr collected three saves on the day.
The Bearcats return home next week as they face Missouri S&T on Friday, October 7 at 7:30 p.m. The weekend continues as they hoist Drury University on Sunday, October 9 at 2:30 p.m.
