(Somers, WI. Oct. 2) – The McKendree University women's soccer team fell to 7-3 overall, and 5-3 in the GLVC with a 3-0 decision against Wisconsin-Parkside.
The Rangers outshot the Bearcats 20-5 in the contest as well as putting seven of those shots on goal.
Sydnee Carroll (Millstadt, IL/Belleville West) would lead the way offensively for the Bearcats as she produced two shots on the day.
In the 4
th minute of play Vianey Hernandez opened up scoring as she found the back of the net to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead. In the 13
th minute Lauren Bialas added to the Rangers lead as she scored coming from a Jillian Hetfleisch pass.
In the second half Brooke Munroe increased the lead to 3-0 as she scored on a deflection inside the box.
In net for the Bearcats was a mix of
Zoe Brochu (Ajax, Ontario, Canada/Pickering ) and
Maddie Shea (Racine, WI/St. Catherines). Brochu collected four saves on the day.
The Bearcats return home next week as they face Missouri S&T on Friday, October 7 at 5:0 p.m. The weekend continues as they hoist Drury University on Sunday, October 9 at noon.
