(Lebanon, Ill., Oct. 20) – The McKendree University men's soccer team gears up for their final home match of the 2016 season on Friday at 7:30 p.m. as they take on University of Southern Indiana. On Sunday the Bearcats travel to Bellarmine University for a 2:30 p.m. contest. McKendree enters this weekend's play with a 3-6-3 overall record and a 2-5-3 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC).
The Bearcats are coming off a huge victory last weekend when they defeated the number one team in the nation Rockhurst University. "It's a step in the right direction for our program," said men's head soccer coach John Vanbuskirk. "Getting ready for this weekend the team knows it is a work week, and every day at training counts."
Scouting the Screaming Eagles: Southern Indiana heads into Friday's contest with a 10-2-2 overall record and an 8-2-2 mark in the GLVC. The Screaming Eagles are currently the number four seed in the conference standings. Eric Ramirez and Kyle Richardville lead the Southern Indiana offense with 19 points on the season. Ramirez holds the team lead with nine goals while Richardville has seven on the season.

Scouting the Knights: Bellarmine heads into the weekend with a 5-7-3 overall record and a 4-6-2 mark in the GLVC. The Knights still have postseason hopes as they are currently sitting in the number 10 spot in the conference standings. Callum Southern leads the way offensively for the Knights as he holds the team lead in points (11) and goals (5).

The Bearcats wrap up the 2016 season as they travel to University of Illinois Springfield on Wednesday, October 26 for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
