(Lebanon, Ill., Oct. 21) – The McKendree University men's soccer team tied University of Southern Indiana in a 0-0 contest. The Bearcats are now 3-6-4 overall and 2-5-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC).
In the contest McKendree outshot Southern Indiana 15-14.
The match was an even battle as both teams had offensive chances each collecting eight corner kicks.
Stephen McIntosh (University City, MO/University City ) and
Felipe Thompson (Santiago, Chile/Hurricane ) would lead the way offensively for the Bearcats as they both posted three shots.
Southern Indiana would take the advantage in fouls as they committed 14 to McKendree's eight.
In net for McKendree was
Ian Bender (Edwardsville, IL/Scott Gallagher Academy). Bender posted a season high 10 saves in net.
The Bearcats are back in action on Sunday as they head to Bellarmine University for a 2:30 p.m. contest.
