(Louisville KY, Oct. 23) – The McKendree University men's soccer team fell to 3-7-4 overall and 2-6-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) as they were defeated by Bellarmine University in a 2-1 contest.
The Bearcats were outshot by the Knight 16-4 in the contest.
Tomas Bernedo would put the Knights on the board in the 56th minute as he netted a goal from 20 yards out.
In the 80th minute, Mark Lanham would increase the lead to 2-0 as he found the back of the net from 22 yards out.
In the 87th minute, Boris Kiesse Makangu put McKendree on the board as he redirected Felipe Thompson (Santiago, Chile/Hurricane )'s free kick to put the match at 2-1.
In net for the Bearcats was Ian Bender (Edwardsville, IL/Scott Gallagher Academy). Bender would collect five saves on 16 shots faced.
The Bearcats wrap up the 2016 season as they visit University of Illinois Springfield for 7:30 p.m. contest.
