(Lebanon, Ill., Oct. 21) – The McKendree University women's soccer team improved to 12-4 overall and 9-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) with their 3-2 victory over University of Southern Indiana.

With this victory the Bearcats have secured themselves a spot in the GLVC Tournament.

In the contest McKendree outshot Southern Indiana 18-10.

Kate Bixby (O'Fallon, MO/Fort Zumwalt North) would open up scoring for the Bearcats in the 51^st minute of play scoring her first goal of the season. Sydnee Markowski assisted on the play as she headed Bixby a ball in front of the net.

Ryley Hancock would tie the game up at 1-1 shortly after in the 53^rd minute.

In the 69^th minute, Chelsea Whittaker (Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand/St Hilda's Collegiate School) would put the Bearcats back on top as she collected a pass from Hailey Porter (O'Fallon, MO/Ft. Zumwalt West) off the Alyssa Reiniger (Maryville, IL/Collinsville) throw in.

Southern Indiana would not be silenced. Ryley Hancock grabbed her second of the game off of a Kennedy Moore pass tying the match at 2-2.

Madyson Mossman (St. Louis, MO/Ursuline Academy) would prove to be the match hero as she netted the game winning goal in the 81^st minute.

In net for McKendree was Zoe Brochu (Ajax, Ontario, Canada/Pickering ). Brochu collected three saves during the contest.

The Bearcats are back in action on Sunday as they travel to Bellarmine University for a noon contest.
