(Louisville KY, Oct. 23) – The McKendree University women's soccer team improved to 13-4 overall and 10-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) as they defeated Bellarmine University in a 1-0 contest.
The Bearcats outshot the Knights 9-3 in the contest.
Amanda Williams (Rochester, IL/Rochester) would put the Bearcats on the board in the 64th minute as she netted a goal off of a Chelsea Whittaker (Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand/St Hilda's Collegiate School) pass. This goal would prove to be all McKendree would need.
In net for the Bearcats was Zoe Brochu (Ajax, Ontario, Canada/Pickering ). Brochu would collect one save on the day along with her eighth shutout of the season.
"The girls are really at the top of their game with the hopes to do well in the playoffs," said women's head soccer coach Tim Strange.
The Bearcats wrap up the 2016 season as they visit University of Illinois Springfield for 5:00 p.m. contest.
McKendree has secured a spot in the GLVC tournament as that contest will be played on October 30.
