(Lebanon, Ill., Oct. 25) – The McKendree University women's soccer team wraps up the 2016 regular season as it travels to University of Illinois Springfield for a 5:00 p.m. contest on Wednesday. Heading into the match-up, the Bearcats are 13-4 overall and 10-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC).

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) released its regional rankings for week eight and the Bearcats moved up two spots from number eight to number six in the Midwest Region.

Playoff Predictions: McKendree currently holds the number five seed in the GLVC standings. With a Bearcat win against Illinois Springfield and a Bellarmine loss or tie against Southern Indiana, McKendree will slip into the number four spot in the GLVC standings. This would result in a home playoff game on October, 30 playing the number five seed for the GLVC Tournament quarterfinal match.

With a McKendree loss and a Wisconsin-Parkside loss, the Bearcats will remain the number five seed and travel to the number four seed for the Quarterfinal GLVC Tournament match.

With a McKendree loss or tie and a Wisconsin-Parkside win over Lewis, the Bearcats will fall to the number six seed. This will result in McKendree traveling to the number three seed for the Quarterfinal GLVC Tournament match.

Scouting the Prairie Stars: Illinois Springfield is currently 7-10 overall and 4-10 in the GLVC. The Prairie Stars are currently the number 14 seed in the GLVC standings. Macy Martin leads the way offensively for the Prairie Stars as she holds the team lead with 10 points.

The Bearcats open up GLVC tournament play on Sunday, Oct. 30. Opponent and location is to be determined following the results of Wednesday night's matches.
