(Lebanon, Ill., Oct. 9) – The McKendree University women's soccer improved to 10-3 overall, and 7-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) with a 4-0 win over Drury University.
McKendree continues the home domination as they are 8-1 while playing at Leemon Field.
The Bearcats controlled the contest as they outshot the Panthers 31-7.
Sydnee Carroll (Millstadt, IL/Belleville West) would put the Bearcats on the board in the second half as she was awarded a penalty shot on a red card from Drury goalkeeper Tina Haberberger. Carroll was able to find the back of the net again for her second goal of the contest increasing the McKendree lead to 2-0.
Rachel Kaltwasser (Belleville, IL/Althoff Catholic) increased the Bearcat lead to 3-0 as she scored on a pass from
Chelsea Whittaker (Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand/St Hilda's Collegiate School). In the 80
th minute, Kaltwasser would score again sealing the Bearcat victory.
Zoe Brochu (Ajax, Ontario, Canada/Pickering ) played 86 minutes in net for McKendree collecting three saves.
Maddie Shea (Racine, WI/St. Catherines) finished the game in net securing the Bearcat shutout.
The Bearcats hit the road next weekend as they travel to Rockhurst University on Friday, October 14 for a 5:00 p.m. contest. The weekend continues as they visit William Jewell on Sunday, October 16 for a noon contest.
