(Kansas City, Mo., Oct. 14) – The McKendree University women's soccer team fell to 10-4 overall and 7-4 in the GLVC as they dropped a 2-1 contest to Rockhurst University.
Mia Zanaboni would put the Hawks on the board as she found the back of the net in the 40th minute of play. Heading into the half, McKendree would trail 1-0.
In the 67th minute of play Brandi Vollmer would increase the lead to 2-0 as she scored off of a rebound from Kaley Neither's free kick.
In the 83rd minute of play Chelsea Whittaker (Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand/St Hilda's Collegiate School) got the Bearcats on the board as she netted a header coming from a Brooke Coakley (Granite City, IL/Granite City) corner kick.
In the contest, Rockhurst would outshoot the Bearcats 24-5.
In net for McKendree was Zoe Brochu (Ajax, Ontario, Canada/Pickering ). Brochu collected eight saves on the day.
The Bearcats continue the weekend as they travel to William Jewell College on Sunday for a noon contest.
