Qian'te Wagner (Alton, Ill., Alton) both claimed individual titles on Saturday at the Greyhound Open.
The Bearcats will return to the mat Tuesday, Feb. 9 when they host University of Indianapolis for a dual match at 7 p.m.
Hardy won all four of his matches on his way to claiming the 133-pound title. Hardy defeated Mitch Pawlak of Indiana Tech in a 9-3 decision in his opening match, before earning an 18-2 tech fall over James Nolan of University of the Cumberlands in the second round. He defeated Collin Crume of Indiana Tech in the semifinals before pinning Travis Barroquillo of Indiana Tech in the finals in 2:57.
Wagner pinned Raven Hedden of Indiana University in his opening match at 165 pounds, before posting a 10-2 major decision over Luke Kriech of Indianapolis in his second match. Wagner earned a 12-8 decision over Gavin Murray of Purdue University in the semifinals, before defeating Gabriel Koontz of Indiana, 9-4, in the finals.
Freshman
Alan Durham (Oak Forest, Ill., Oak Forest) and
Isaiah Kemper (Evansville, Ind., Central) were the only other placers for McKendree at the event, earning seventh place finishes at 133 and 157 pounds, respectively.
