(SAINT LOUIS, Mo., Feb. 6)- Freshman forward Jordan Morton (Olathe, Kan./Olathe South) scored 14 points and pulled down nine rebounds on Saturday in a 60-47 loss at Maryville University.

The Bearcats fall to 10-13 overall and 5-7 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and will begin a five-game homestand to close out the regular season on Thursday, Feb. 11 whne they host Missouri S&T at 5:30 p.m.

Klass got the Bearcats off to a quick start by scoring the first four points of the game, and the Bearcats held onto their lead until the Saints tied the game, 6-6, with 4:30 left in the quarter. Maryville led 10-6 before a three-pointer by Morton brought McKendree within one, 10-9, with 2:14 left in the first period. A three-pointer by Klass midway through the second quarter put the Bearcats back out in front, 17-15, but Maryville outscored McKendree, 7-2, in the remainder of the quarter to hold a slight 22-19 edge at the break.

Two free throws by junior forward Emily Pusheck (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) cut the Bearcat's deficit down to 36-32 late in the third quarter, but Maryville pushed its lead out to double-digits in the fourth quarter and held on down the stretch to earn the win.
