(BELLEVILLE, Ill., April 15)--The McKendree University men's tennis team dropped a close 5-4 decision on Friday in a home match against Lewis University. The Bearcats and Flyers played at Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville.
The Bearcats fall to 11-11 overall and 1-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with the loss. McKendree will return to the court next Friday, April 22, to host Bellarmine Universityat 2 p.m., in a GLVC match at Southwestern Illinois College.
"I am really happy for our number one doubles team," said head coach
Raquel Allen. "Maico and Ben played aggressive today and held a win against a ranked team. We felt short in singles to a more consistent team. Overall I am proud of how our guys performed today."
