Box Score (LEBANON, Ill., April 8)- The McKendree University women's lacrosse team scored four runs in the final 2:55 of regulation, but it couldn't complete the comeback in a 18-15 loss to Tiffin University.
The Bearcats fall to 6-5 overall and 4-2 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Atheltic Conference, and will host University of Findlay on Sunday, April 10 at 10 a.m.
Dana DiPasquale (St. Charles, Mo./Barat Academy) and
Emily Nelson (Deephaven, Minn./Holy Family Catholic) led McKendree with three goals each, while
Bree Suter (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill),
Paige Salthouse (St. Louis, Mo./Ursuline Academy),
Mia Fiore (Eureka, Mo./Eureka High School) and
Rianne Holzmeyer (Hazelwood, Mo./Hazelwood West) each added two goals a piece. Salthouse also led the team with three assists and six draw controls.
Amy Porta (Ellisville, Mo./Marquette) had seven saves in the loss.
A goal by Suter with 12:36 left in teh first half brought the Bearacts to within 6-5, but the Dragons scored four-straight goals to jump out to a 10-5 lead. Both teams scored a goal in the final 1:14 of the half to take a 11-6 score into the break. McKendree trailed 18-11 with 4:32 left, but Fiore started a rally with a goal with 2:55 left. Salthouse scored with 1:24 left to cut the score to 18-13, and goals by Nelson and Fiore in the final minute cut it to 18-15, but the Bearcats ran out of time in the loss.
