(LEBANON, Ill., Sept. 11) The McKendree University women's soccer team improved to 3-1 on the 2016 campaign as they defeated Quincy University 1-0.

Early in the first, the Bearcats found the back of the net as Sydnee Carroll (Millstadt, IL/Belleville West) scored her fourth goal of the season. Alyssa Reiniger (Maryville, IL/Collinsville) and Rachel Kaltwasser (Belleville, IL/Althoff Catholic) were credited with the assist on the play. This goal would prove to be enough for the Bearcats as it was the lone goal in the contest.

Despite being outshot 19 to 14 the Bearcats were able to come out with the victory.

In net for the Bearcats was Zoe Brochu (Ajax, Ontario, Canada/Pickering ), who collected her third win of the season. She tallied a total of ten saves during the contest, her career high.

The Bearcats hit the road next week to continue Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play where they will play Maryville University on Friday, September 16 at 5 p.m. and University of Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday, September 18 at noon.
