Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Rallies Past Saint Joseph's College 2-0

(Lebanon, Ill., Sept. 25) – The McKendree University men's soccer team picked up its first GLVC win as they defeated Saint Joseph's College in a 2-0 contest. The Bearcats are now 2-1-2 overall, and 1-1-2 in the GLVC.

The first half was a stalemate as the Bearcats traded shots with the Pumas. Heading into the half, the Bearcats held the shot advantage 9-7.

Marcus Taylor (Anna. Ill./Anna-Jonesboro) would break the ice as he netted a header off of a Clemente Rossi (Santiago, Chile/Saint George's College) redirect. Taylor would find the back of the net again in the 73rd minute increasing the lead to 2-0 as he redirected a Dylan Cassidy (Dublin, Ireland/Lucan) free kick.

Clemente Rossi (Santiago, Chile/Saint George's College) had a game high four shots on the day. The Bearcats outshot the Pumas 14-12 in the contest.

In net for the Bearcats was Eddie Starr (Columbia, IL/Columbia ). Starr collected six saves during the contest along with his second shutout of the 2016 season.

The Bearcats hit the road next weekend as they travel to Lewis University on September 30 for a 5:00 p.m. contest.
