Men's Soccer Falls at Lewis University

Box Score (Romeoville, Ill., Sept. 30) – The McKendree University men's soccer team fell to 2-2-2 overall, and 1-2-2 in the GLVC as they lost a 6-0 contest against the Lewis University Flyers.
In the match, the Flyers outshot the Bearcats 17-15. The difference maker however proved to be shots on goal, as the Flyers held that advantage 14-6.
Nico Mueller would open the scoring for Lewis in the 25th minute and the Flyers would not look back. Less than a minute later, Timm Adler would another increasing the lead to 2-0 on a penalty kick. In the 32nd minute, John Horstman would find the net on a header.
Coming out of the break, the Bearcats were not able to put together a second half rally.
Nico Mueller found the back of the net for his second goal of the game increasing the flyer lead to 4-0. The Flyers offense continued to operate efficiently as they produced to more goals to increase the lead to 6-0.
In net for the Bearcats was Eddie Starr (Columbia, IL/Columbia ). Starr collected 8 saves on the day.
The Bearcats continue north, as they head to University of Wisconsin-Parkside for a noon contest on Sunday.
