Men’s Water Polo Opens Up the Weekend With Two Home Games

(LEBANON, Ill., Sept. 28) – The McKendree University men's water polo team opens up the weekend with two games at home. The Bearcats will play two exhibition games at the Chuck Fruit Aquatics Center in Edwardsville, IL on Friday. The team then heads to Saint Louis University to resume division play on Saturday and Sunday.
 
EXHIBITION PLAY
The Bearcats head into the weekend with an overall record of (5-4) and a shared ranking of No. 1 in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) club level week two poll. Friday, they will take on the Salem International University Tigers (3-9) at 7 p.m. at the Chuck Fruit Aquatics Center in Edwardsville, IL. Following that game, McKendree will take on the Monmouth College Fighting Scotts (0-3) at 8 p.m. Both the Tigers and the Fighting Scots compete at the CWPA varsity level.

DIVISION PLAY
Saturday and Sunday, McKendree will resume division play at Saint Louis University's Simon Recreation Center with several teams from the Missouri Valley division of the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA). The Bearcats enter the weekend (4-0) in division play, outscoring their opponents 89-29.
 
McKendree begins play on Saturday at 3:05 p.m. against the Washington University – St. Louis Bears. The Bearcats defeated the Bears in their last matchup by a score of 16-10. In their last game of the day McKendree will take on Lindenwood University 'B' team at 5:50 p.m.
 
Sunday, the Bearcats will open against the Truman State University Bulldogs at 10:25 a.m. Subsequently, at 3:30 p.m. McKendree will take on Lindenwood University 'A' team, the national champions in 2014 and 2015.
 
McKendree will hit the road next weekend heading for California, playing the University of Redlands on Thursday, October 6, at 7 p.m. PT. The Bearcats will then compete in the Gary Troyer Tournament in Claremont, CA with games on October 7th and 8th.
