Box Score (Romeoville, Ill., Sept. 30) – The McKendree University women's soccer team improved to 7-2 overall, and 5-2 in the GLVC as they defeated the Lewis University Flyers in a 1-0 contest.

The Bearcats outshot the Flyers 5-3 in the first half and 15-6 in the contest.

Sydnee Carroll (Millstadt, IL/Belleville West) put the Bearcats on the board in the first half has she found the back of the net on a header coming from a Liz Kaiser (St. Louis, MO/Ursuline) corner kick in the 30th minute. This goal would prove to be all the Bearcats needed in the 1-0 contest.

Leading the way offensively for the Bearcats was Carroll and Alyssa Reininger, who produced four shots each during the match. In net for the Bearcats was Zoe Brochu (Ajax, Ontario, Canada/Pickering ). Brochu collected three saves on the day and also picked up her fifth shutout of the season.

The Bearcats continue the weekend as they head north to University of Wisconsin-Parkside for a 2:30 p.m. contest on Sunday.
