(Fort Wayne, Ind. Jan. 6) – The McKendree University women's wrestling team wrapped up the 2017 NWCA National Duals posting a 3-1 record to claim a second place finish.

The Bearcats opened up the day posting a decisive 29-13 victory over Oklahoma City University in the semifinal round. McKendree would secure six of the 10 matches. Megan Black (Batavia, Iowa/Eddyville-Balcksburg-Fremont) would collect the only pin fall of the dual at 130 pounds as she glued Carla Ponce to the mat.

In the championship match, King University would jump out to an early lead winning the first four matches before Megan Black (Batavia, Iowa/Eddyville-Balcksburg-Fremont) could gather a win for the Bearcats. Alexia Ward (Portland, Ore./Westview) and Brandy Lowe (Paxico, Kan./Saint Mary's) would both secure extra points for McKendree collecting a tech fall and pin victory.

The Bearcats are back in action on Saturday, January 14 as the team travels to Redmond, Oregon for the Oregon Classic Duals.
