(LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 13) – The McKendree University men's water polo team is set for the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division II Championship on October 14
th and 15
th hosted by Gannon University. The Bearcats are set for three contests across two days.
The Bearcats are 4-11 overall on the season after going head-to-head with some of the top teams in the nation at the Gary Troyer Tournament last weekend. McKendree has seen host, Gannon University, once already this season falling 20-9 on September 24
th. Last season the Bearcats took on Salem International University in a close contest, but fell 27-12. McKendree will be looking to avenge those losses and come home with the CWPA Division II Championship title in its first CWPA Varsity level season.
There are four teams set for competition in the CWPA Division II Championship, including McKendree, Mercyhurst, Gannon, and Salem International University. The championship is played in a round robin format, which allows all teams to play against each other over the weekend. For those unable to attend the games CWPA Division II Championship, Gannon University is offering live streaming and live stats for many of the games.
