(Lebanon, Ill., October 19) – The McKendree University women's soccer team concludes their regular season home schedule this weekend as the team welcomes Missouri S&T to Leemon Field on Friday and Maryville University on Sunday for Senior Day.
The Bearcats
Heading into week eight of the 2017 slate, McKendree is receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 Rankings and ranked fourth in the NCAA Midwest Regional Poll. The top six team of each region advance to the NCAA Tournament.
The Bearcats play two key matchups this weekend looking towards the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) standings and playoff seeding. Currently McKendree is positioned in the No. 2 spot behind Quincy and ahead of Maryville, who the Bearcats square off against on Sunday.
Sydnee Carroll (Millstadt, IL/Belleville West) leads GLVC categories in points (19), goals (7), and is tied second in assists (5).
Madyson Mossman (St. Louis, MO/Ursuline Academy) contributes to the Bearcat offense adding nine points, while
Alynnah O'Leary (Collinsville, IL/Collinsville ) adds eight on four goals.
Zoe Brochu (Ajax, Ontario, Canada/Pickering) continues her dominance in net posting a conference best .931 save percentage on eight shutouts.
The Miners
Missouri S&T enters Friday's contest 1-11-1 overall posting a 1-9-1 mark in the GLVC. Chayse Richardson, Taylor Vollmer, and Kayla Foster produce the Miners offensive each providing six points. In net Missouri S&T has seen four different goalkeepers with Kelly Nicole posting the best record and save percentage at .800.
The Saints
A dangerous Maryville team heads into the weekend 7-3-3 overall and 6-2-3 in the GLVC. The Saints currently trail the Bearcats by one game in the conference standings, while also fighting for a top six spot in the regional rankings sitting in seventh. Alex Johnson and Allison Verville guide the offense each posting 12 points. Allison Riddle holds down the fort in net posting a .836 save percentage with three shutouts.
