(Lebanon, Ill., October 22) – The McKendree University men's soccer team moved to 2-13 overall and 0-13 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) as they fell to Maryville University 3-0 this afternoon.

The Saints outshot the Bearcats 10-7 in the contest putting seven shots on frame.

In second minute of play, Helgi Jonsson found the back of the net on Ricardo Andrade crossing ball to give Maryville an early 1-0 lead.

In the 51 minute, JD Sohn added to the lead as he intercepted a McKendree pass in the defensive zone.

The Saints would add another in the 68 minute as Pontus Gitselov received a pass from Jonsson inside the box to seal the 3-0 victory.

In net for McKendree was Brett Neidzwiecki who tallied four saves during the match.

The men's soccer team is back in action on Wednesday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m. when the Bearcats travel to Southern Indiana University for the regular season finale.
