(Lebanon, Ill., October 5) – The McKendree University men's soccer team is set for two Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) matchups this weekend as Truman State University and William Jewell College travel to Leemon Field.

Before Friday's match against Truman State, the men's soccer team would like to honor all military members who serve and protect our country with a military appreciation night ceremony.

The Bearcats
McKendree heads into the weekend looking to pick up its first GLVC win of the 2017 campaign. Gonzalo Correa (Santiago, Chile/Athletic Study Center) paces the McKendree offense with a team leading three goals. Fredrik Hansen (Oslo, Norway/Persbraaten Videregaaende Skole) adds to the offensive production with a game-winning penalty kick from the Oakland City contest and an assist in the then No. 11 Fort Hays victory. Goaltenders Ian Bender (Edwardsville, IL/Scott Gallagher Academy) and Brett Niedzwiecki (Collinsville, IL/Collinsville High School) have split time in net with Bender posting a .730 save percentage.

The Bulldogs
Truman State enters the weekend atop the Bearcats in the conference ranks at No. 13. Trevor Kaufmann paces the Bulldog offense with four goals and one assist. Matt Yankowitz follows with two goals and one helper. Zac Suazo has started all 11 games posting a .591 save percentage.

The Cardinals
William Jewell looks to climb the GLVC ranks as they enter the weekend in the last place spot of the conference standings. The Cardinals offensive attack is led by Drew Dempsey and Teddy Gifford who lead the team in goals with five and three respectively. Quinn Ruggeri and Nick Cooper have split starts in cage with Cooper posting a 1.69 goals allowed average.
