(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 3) – The McKendree University men's water polo team is set to head to the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Western Region Championships over the weekend at the David M. Hallman III Aquatics Center in Erie, PA. McKendree opens up play against Salem International University on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. EST
 
The Bearcats are 6-16 overall on the season, and 2-5 in MAWPC play earning the No. 6 seed in the tournament. McKendree has faced Salem International twice this season, falling in both matches. The Tigers are the No. 3 seed in the tournament with an overall record of 10-12, and a record of 4-3 in MAWPC play.
 
The top two teams coming out of the MAWPC Western Region Championship will move on to compete with the Eastern Region teams at the MAWPC Championship, held at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.
