McKENDREE FOOTBALL SIGNING DAY VIDEO WITH COACH BABCOCK

(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 1)—McKendree University head football coach Mike Babcock has announced the addition of 48 new players during National Signing Day on Wednesday. The newcomers will join the Bearcats' program for the 2017 season.
 
"We are extremely happy to have such a great group of young men joining the McKendree football program today," said Babcock, who will enter his fifth season as the Bearcats' head coach in 2017. "There is talent up and down the list, and we cannot wait until this group of student-athletes gets to campus to join our team and help us get ready for the new season."
 
The Bearcats' 2017 recruiting class includes 11 players from the surrounding Metro-East area as well as nine more signees from the St. Louis metro area. McKendree also added 12 newcomers from the Chicago area.
 
In 2016, McKendree posted an overall record of 8-3, which included a five-game win streak to close out the season. The Bearcats were third in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with a 6-2 league mark.
