Box Score (Lakewood, NJ., March 13) -- The McKendree University women's lacrosse team improved to 3-2 on the 2017 campaign as they defeated Georgian Court University 18-6 this afternoon.
Victoria Lelo (Auckland, New Zealand/Westlake) provided all the support the Bearcats needed as she outscored Georgian Court posting eight goals. The senior also contributed to the victory providing nine draw controls and one assist.
Hannah Sugarman (Holden, MA/Wachusett Regional ) and
Madison Dauch (Lebanon, IL/Lebanon) added to the scoring each providing three goals to the Bearcat cause. Sugarman added two assists while Dauch contributed one.
McKendree controlled the tempo as they held the advantage in draw controls 15-6. Lelo found the back of the net in the first 12 seconds of play, and the Bearcats never looked back taking a 5-0 lead in the first 7 minutes of play.
Amy Porta (Ellisville, MO/Marquette) improved to 3-2 in cage as she collected seven saves and causing two turnovers.
The women's lacrosse team is back in action on Wednesday, March 15 as they head to Queens College for a 3 p.m. ET contest.
