(Oklahoma City, Okla., March 25) – The McKendree University women's wrestling team placed eight of their 11 wrestlers at the 2017 USA Wrestling University Women's Nationals Tournament.
Megan Black (Batavia, Iowa/Eddyville-Balcksburg-Fremont) took home first place in the 55kg division as she won all four of her matches. Black coming off of a runner up finish at the WCWA Nationals was able to claim the crown posting a tech fall, two decisions and fall in title match against teammate Gabby Weyhrich.
Wehyrich took second place honors at 55kg as she posted three tech fall victories on her way to the title match.
Alexandria Glaude (West Sacramento, Calif./Christian Brothers) took second place at 69kg as she posted two decisions before falling in the title match to Niauni Hill of Lindenwood-Belleville by a 9-0 decision.
Tayler Resuirz (53kg), Alexis Porter (Ballston Lake, N.Y./Shenendehowa High School) (63kg), and Andrea Sennett (Wheeling, IL/Wheeling) (69kg) took home third place finishes to cap off the top three podium spots for McKendree.
