(LEBANON, Ill., March 31)--The McKendree University baseball team will look to get into the win column in Great Lakes Valley Conference play this weekend when the Bearcats play host to Bellarmine University. The teams have had their four-game series moved up a day due to forecasted inclement weather. McKendree and Bellarmine will square off in doubleheaders Friday at 1 p.m. and Saturday at noon. 

McKendree was swept in its first GLVC series of the year last weekend by the University of Illinois Springfield. The losses put the Bearcats back at 8-14 overall heading into its series against Bellarmine. The four games with the Knights will serve as the midpoint for a nine-game home stand for McKendree, which will conclude on Tuesday in non-conference play against Maryville University. 

ABOUT BELLARMINE
The Knights come to Lebanon with an overall record of 14-10. Bellarmine split its four-game series last weekend at home against the University of Southern Indiana, winning the first and last games of the weekend. While the Knights are 10-4 at home in 2017, the squad is just 4-6 away from its friendly confines of Knights Field. 

Bellarmine took all four games in the 2016 series with McKendree. However, three of the four contests were decided by two runs or less, including a pair of one-run affairs.
