(Lebanon, Ill., March 5) – The McKendree University women's lacrosse team improved to 2-1 overall with a decisive 19-2 win over Concordia University, St. Paul this evening.
McKendree opened scoring in the second minute of play as Dana Dipasquale netted an unassisted goal.
Hannah Sugarman (Holden, MA/Wachusett Regional ) converted on two free shots to increase the lead to 3-0. Concordia, St. Paul would cut the lead to 4-1 as Kailey Heinl scored an even strength goal but that would be as close as the Golden Bears got to the Bearcat lead. McKendree would then go on a seven-goal run to up the score to 11-1 before the Golden Bears would strike again. McKendree continued strong through the second half putting together an eight-goal run to seal the victory.
Amy Porta (Ellisville, MO/Marquette) moves to 2-1 as she collected three saves during 44:17 minutes of play.
Collin Patton (Wildwood, MO/Eureka) gathered four saves during 15:43 minutes of work.
The women's lacrosse team is back in action on Wednesday, March 8 as the Bearcats host Regis University at 4:00 p.m.
