Women's Lacrosse Gears Up For Indianapolis

(Lebanon, Ill., April 13) – The McKendree University women's lacrosse team gears up for its Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) contest against University of Indianapolis on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET in Indianapolis, IN.

McKendree stands at 7-4 overall and 3-0 in the GLIAC after posting a 19-6 win over Lake Erie College last Sunday, April 9.

The Bearcats
The Bearcat squad enters the contest averaging 16.18 goals per game, the highest in the conference and ninth in the nation. Opponents are averaging 9.82 goals against the McKendree defense which is led by Amy Porta (Ellisville, MO/Marquette). The two-time GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week holds a .443 save percentage, fourth in the conference. Offensively, Victoria Lelo (Auckland, New Zealand/Westlake) is currently fourth in the nation with 7.27 draw controls per game. Lelo paces the conference with 42 goals and is second in points with 55. Dana DiPasquale (St. Charles, MO/Barat Academy) sits at third in the conference with 20 assists just one behind Anna Spin of Lake Erie College.

Scouting the Greyhounds
The Greyhounds enter Saturday's game at 8-3 overall and 2-1 in the GLIAC. As a team, Indianapolis is averaging 13.64 goals per game while holding opponents to 7.09. Offensively, Anna Rulapaugh leads the Greyhounds and the conference with 56 points. Chalane Morrison follows with 45 points and Grace Gunneson caps off the top three with 30. Indianapolis has spread time in cage between three goalkeepers. Lauren Granville has seen majority of the minutes posting the highest save percentage at .452.

The Bearcats return home to Leemon Field on Thursday, April 20 as they welcome Oklahoma Baptist University for a non-conference contest. First draw is scheduled for 7 p.m.
