Women's Lacrosse Set For Oklahoma Baptist And Grand Valley State

(Lebanon, Ill., April 19) –
The McKendree University women's lacrosse team looks to extend their current four game win streak this week as they host Oklahoma Baptist University in a non-conference contest Thursday, April 20 at 7 p.m. and then visit Grand Valley State University on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.

The Bearcats enter the week at 8-4 overall and on top of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) at 4-0.

The Bearcats
The Bearcat squad enters this week's matches averaging 15.83 goals per game, best in the GLIAC and tenth in the nation. Opponents are posting 9.83 goals per game against the McKendree defensive unit, which is led by Amy Porta (Ellisville, MO/Marquette). Porta, the two-time GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week, holds a 44.1 save percentage, tied for third in the conference. Victoria Lelo (Auckland, New Zealand/Westlake) paces the Bearcat offense providing a conference leading 59 points and 46 goals. The New Zealand native is currently ranked fourth in the nation at 7.17 draw controls per game. Dana DiPasquale (St. Charles, MO/Barat Academy) is second on the team in points with 43 providing a balanced attack of 22 goals and 21 assists.

The Bison
Oklahoma Baptist enters Thursday's game at 4-8 overall. The Bison are averaging 8.17 goals per game while allowing 14. Courtney Barnickl stands in between the pipes for Oklahoma Baptist posting a .375 save percentage. Alexis Martin and Lauren McCormac lead the Bison offense. Martin leads the team in points with 22 while McCormac follows with 19.

The Lakers
Grand Valley State enters the weekend at 4-8 overall and 3-1 in the GLIAC. The Lakers are averaging 11.25 goals per game while surrendering 13.75. Sarah Zwilsky has played all 12 games in cage posting a 4-5 record and a .380 save percentage. Meghan Datema leads to offense recording 29 points on 28 goals. Meggan Loyd follows with 24 points on 19 goals and five helpers.
