(LEBANON, Ill., April 20) – The McKendree University women's water polo team heads to Indiana University for their final regular season game on Friday at 7 p.m. After Friday's game the team will head to Notre Dame, Ind. for the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Midwest Division Championship on Saturday and Sunday at Rolfs Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Notre Dame.
The Bearcats are 7-14 on the season, with a record of 7-1 in CWPA Midwest Division play. Heading into the Midwest Division Championship McKendree owns the No. 2 seed and is matched up against No. 7 seeded Illinois State University with the game beginning at 12:20 p.m. EST. If the Bearcats win, the team moves on to play the winner between the No. 3 seed University of Notre Dame and No. 6 seed Miami University (Ohio) at 6:10 p.m. EST on Saturday. McKendree is led in scoring by freshman attacker
Brianna Mullalley (Chula Vista, CA/Eastlake High School) with 56 goals along with seven assists. Junior attacker
Sabrina Sherrin (San Jose, CA/West Valley Junior College) has netted 37 goals and added four assists this season. Freshman utility player
Victoria Jones (Lodi, CA/Tokay High School) has scored 30 goals this season and registered three assists. On the other side of the ball, freshman center defender
Tiana Wilson ( Orange County, CA/Mt. San Antonio College) has seven goals and four assists along with 88 steals on the season. In the cage for the Bearcats this season has been freshman goaltenders
Gabby Madewell (Portland, OR/Parkrose High School) and
Kim Fay (Lake Oswego, OR) with a combined 123 blocks, 27 steals, and four as
sists.
