Women's Lacrosse Set For GLIAC Contests In Ohio

(Lebanon, Ill., April 4) – The McKendree University women's lacrosse team is set for its weekend road trip to Ohio for two Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) games featuring Walsh University and Lake Erie College.

The Bearcats are set to play Walsh on Thursday, April 6 at 6 p.m. ET. The weekend continues as the team travels to Lake Erie College in Painesville, OH on Sunday, April 9 for a noon ET game.

The Bearcats stand at 5-4 overall and 1-0 in the GLIAC coming off a 20-1 victory over Northern Michigan last Sunday, April 2.

The Bearcats
McKendree enters the weekend scoring 15.44 goals per game while holding opponents to 10.56. The Bearcats are averaging 35.1 shots per game compared to 24 averaged by opponents. Victoria Lelo (Auckland, New Zealand/Westlake) ranks fourth in the country recording 7.44 draw controls per game. The New Zealand native currently leads the GLIAC in goals with 33 and is second in points with 43. Dana Dipasquale sits among conference leaders in assists at third with 15, while Amy Porta (Ellisville, MO/Marquette) is second in saves with 64.

Scouting the Cavaliers
Walsh heads into Thursday's matchup at 7-2 overall. The Cavalier offense is averaging 17 goals per game while averaging 33.7 shots putting 50.5% of them on goal. Walsh is currently riding a four game win streak with the most recent win 21-6 over Davis & Elkins. Aly JaJack leads the offensive unit providing 30 goals and 10 assists. Maria Nobile contributes to the Cavalier offense with 23 goals and 11 helpers. Mikaela Faus has seen majority of the workload in cage posting a 47% save percentage, second in the GLIAC.

Scouting the Storm
Lake Erie heads into the weekend at 7-0 overall. The Strom will face University of Indianapolis on Friday before taking on the Bearcats on Sunday. The Storm offense is averaging 17.57 goals per game while averaging 30.4 shots putting 57.7% on goal. Tayler Mathis leads the charge for the Storm offense netting 28 goals on the 2017 campaign. Anastasia Crawford adds to the offense with 23 goals and five assists. Anna Spin leads the team in points with 37 providing 20 assists and 17 goals. Goalkeeper Harmony Moore leads the GLIAC posting a 54.1% save percentage.
