(North Canton, Ohio, April 6) – The McKendree University women's lacrosse team improved to 6-4 overall and 2-0 in the Great Lakes Intercollege Athletic Conference (GLIAC) as they defeated Walsh University 20-7 this evening.
McKendree outshot Walsh 42-19 in the contest putting 32 shots on cage. The Bearcats also won the ground ball battle 10-8 securing extra possessions for the high powered offense that went 7-15 on free position shots.
Victoria Lelo (Auckland, New Zealand/Westlake) paced the offense netting six goals and one assist. Dana Dipasquale,
Ola Abdallah (Florissant, MO/Hazelwood West), and
Hannah Sugarman (Holden, MA/Wachusett Regional ) added three goals while
Paige Salthouse (St. Louis, MO/Ursuline Academy) and
Emily Nelson (Deephaven, MN/Holy Family Catholic) contributed two.
Bree Suter (Westminster, MD/Winters Mill) added the final goal to put the Bearcats at 20.
Defensively,
Amy Porta (Ellisville, MO/Marquette) collected nine saves in net on 16 shots faced. Abdallah caused a game-high three turnovers while Sugarman provided a game-high three ground balls.
The Bearcats are back in action on Sunday, April 9 as they travel to Lake Erie College. First draw is scheduled for noon ET.
