(Painesville, Ohio April 9) – The McKendree University women's lacrosse team improved to 7-4 overall and 3-0 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) as they defeated Lake Erie College 19-6 this afternoon.
The Bearcats outshot the Storm 45-17 in the contest putting 30 on cage. McKendree also controlled the ground ball battle 13-12.
Emily Nelson (Deephaven, MN/Holy Family Catholic) ran the Bearcat offense netting six goals on seven shots adding one helper. Bree Suter (Westminster, MD/Winters Mill), Paige Salthouse (St. Louis, MO/Ursuline Academy), and Victoria Lelo (Auckland, New Zealand/Westlake) added three goals in the 19-6 conference match.
Defensively, Amy Porta (Ellisville, MO/Marquette) saw a 60 minutes in cage collecting nine saves on 15 shots faced. Hannah Sugarman (Holden, MA/Wachusett Regional ) posted a game-high two caused turnovers adding two ground balls. Lelo continued her dominance at the draw collecting nine.
The Bearcats are back in action next weekend on Saturday, April 15 at 1 p.m. ET when they travel to University of Indianapolis for a GLIAC match up.
