(LEBANON, Ill., Apr. 7) – The McKendree University women's water polo team is set for their home opener on Saturday, April 8 at 12 p.m. against Mercyhurst University. The two teams will play again in a scrimmage game on Sunday at 8 a.m.
The Bearcats are 7-13 overall, winning their last four games. In the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Week 8 Top 20 rankings McKendree jumped into the No. 13 spot after defeating the No. 15 and No. 19 teams in Notre Dame and Lindenwood University, respectively. The women's water polo team is the first aquatics team to host a home event at the new McKendree Metro Rec Plex.
Freshman attacker
Brianna Mullalley (Chula Vista, CA/Eastlake High School) leads the Bearcats in scoring with 52 goals and seven assists. Mullalley garnered CWPA Midwest Player of the Week honors after netting 18 goals, adding one assist, and registering eight steals. Junior attacker
Sabrina Sherrin (San Jose, CA/West Valley Junior College) has found the back of the net 36 times and notched four assists on the season. Freshman utility player
Victoria Jones (Lodi, CA/Tokay High School) has scored 29 goals and added three assists this season.
