(Lebanon, Ill., September 22) – The McKendree University men's soccer team fell to 2-4 overall and 0-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) as they dropped a 3-1 contest to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside this evening.
McKendree struck first as
Gonzalo Correa (Santiago, Chile/Athletic Study Center) was able to receive a header pass from Ariel Cordozo to find the back of the net in the 11 minute of play to give an early 1-0 led.
The Rangers offense came alive late in the second half netting three goals in the last 26 minutes of play to steal a Bearcat victory.
In the contest, Wisconsin-Parkside outshot the Bearcats 18-10 also holding the shots on goal advantage 8-4.
In net for McKendree was
Ian Bender (Edwardsville, IL/Scott Gallagher Academy) who collected five saves during the contest.
The men's soccer team is back in action on Sunday when the team welcomes Lewis University to Leemon Field for a 2:30 p.m. contest.
