(WASHINGTON, Penn., Sept. 23) – The McKendree University men's water polo team is set to open Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference play at Washington & Jefferson College with three games on Saturday and two on Sunday.
The Bearcats are coming off of their first win at the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Varsity level, and first win of the season. McKendree defeated Monmouth College at home by a final score of 14-8.
This weekend McKendree is set for four contests against Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference-Western Region (MAWPC) opponents, and one non-conference opponent. Saturday the Bearcats open against La Salle University at 9 a.m. EST. Last season McKendree took its first Varsity level win against La Salle, by a score of 16-8. At 4:40 p.m. EST the Bearcats are set for a matchup with Connecticut College, followed up by a contest against the host, Washington & Jefferson College at 7:30 p.m. EST. On Sunday McKendree will take on Gannon University at 10:30 a.m. EST, and then close out play against non-conference opponent Penn State-Behrend at 2:15 p.m. EST.
The next chance to catch the Bearcats in action at home is October 21 at 5 p.m. in a game against Washington University-St. Louis.
